How I redesigned a website for a marketing & launch expert.

Katie Bell is a marketing and launch expert who works with service-based businesses.

She supports her clients with everything from ongoing marketing strategy to full launch plans - essentially becoming the person behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly, goes out on time, and actually works.

Whether it’s a product launch, a service release or ongoing marketing support, Katie removes the overwhelm.

The Challenge.

Katie came to me with an existing MailerLite-built website. While it was functional and did the job at a basic level, it didn’t fully reflect who she is, the level of service she provides, or her brand.

There was a clear opportunity to elevate both the design and the user experience, as well as create a more intentional structure that better showcased her services.

Katie already had a strong brand identity, including logo, colour palette and a clear idea of how she wanted the website to feel. She also provided her own copy and had a good sense of layout direction, supported by inspiration from other websites.

What I Worked On.

With a solid foundation already in place, the focus of this project was on bringing everything together in a more cohesive, elevated and user-friendly way. I restructured the four main pages: Home, Services, Resources and Contact.

These core pages were designed to act as the central navigation points, while also connecting seamlessly with Katie’s existing landing pages for her services, bookings, resources and affiliate links.

Visitor Clarity.

A key part of the redesign was improving how users move through the site.

The previous website didn’t always guide visitors clearly from one section to the next, which meant opportunities for engagement were being lost.

The new structure introduces a much more intentional flow, helping visitors quickly understand: what Katie offers, who her services are for, how they can work with her, where to access additional resources/

This ensures that whether someone arrives on the homepage, a service page or a resource link, they are always guided towards the next logical step.

Bringing the Visuals to Life.

Visually, the redesign focused on making the website feel more aligned with Katie’s personality and branding.

Her brand colours were brought into the design more prominently, helping to create a consistent and recognisable visual identity across the site.

I also incorporated more imagery from Katie’s recent branding shoot, which plays a key role in helping her audience connect with her as a person. For a service-based business like hers (and mine!) trust and connection are essential, so showing the person behind the brand is key to helping connect with visitors.

Softness & Flow.

To complement the nature of Katie’s work and brand personality, the design was intentionally softened to create a more welcoming and approachable feel.

This was achieved through subtle design details such as: rounded corners on images, pill-shaped buttons instead of sharp edges, hover interactions that change colour.

These small details help create a sense of flow and ease throughout the site, making the experience feel more modern, considered and aligned with her brand values.

The Result.

The final website is a much stronger reflection of Katie’s expertise, personality and the level of service she provides.

It not only feels more aligned with her branding, but also offers a significantly improved user experience, with clearer structure, better navigation and a more intentional journey through her services and resources.

The result is a website that supports her business more effectively - helping visitors understand what she does, build trust, and take action with confidence.

A simple but powerful transformation that better positions her brand for growth.
