Custom website creation for a Cheshire based pilates studio & coffee house.

Sol Society Studio is a wellness studio and coffee house based in Lymm, Cheshire. Founder Jolie got in touch with me in April wanting to create a website in preparation for the studio opening in summer 2026.

Creating a website for a business that hasn't yet launched is important so that clients and customers can start to learn about the brand and so that the pages and information start showing up in Google searches. But, from a web design perspective it can bring a number of challenges - which is why working with a designer who understands the nuances of starting a business is vital to ensuring a seemless process and getting the final result of a website that actually works for your business.

So here's how I did it...

The logo, branding and colour palette for Sol were already established, as was the tone of of voice including keywords. Also included was a selection of words and phrases to avoid - I love this kind of detail from clients, because it provides me with a real understanding of exactly the message they want to put out. The brief was to create a welcoming community-feel website, that showcases the wellness studio and coffee house equally, the vibes need to be fun and inclusive whilst also being paired back and uncluttered.

I drafted a couple of example sections, and once approved I got to work. The website is hosted through Squarespace, and the domain name had already been purchased.

Each page is made up of clearly defined sections, each balanced in colours from the colour palette, contrasting colour buttons and scrolling banners to give the site movement and flow.

A clear business plan meant that I was able to create information sections for site visitors - defining exactly what Sol Society is, what classes are on offer (pilates, barre, sculpt and stretch) and the menu is also integrated in PDF format (acai bowls, frozen matchas, and signature coffees).

So what were the challenges?

The studio and coffee house are still under construction - we always knew the website would launch well in advance of the build being completed, a completely intentional decision. But this means we don't yet have any official photos of the studio and cafe spaces.

Photography can make or break a website from a visual perspective, and I'll always encourage my clients to provide me with high quality professional imagery where possible as it really elevates the overall look and feel of the final design. So on this project to get the website live, we've used images from the interior design plans for each room and in a few weeks these will be updated once the spaces are completed.

We've also hidden a couple of pages such as instructors and class timetables, these will be published once further details are finalised closer to opening.

The result...

A website that meets the design brief, and means Sol Society can start being discovered online ahead of launch. I can't wait to update the site later this month with photos, booking links and further details about the launch!
